The Pyramid of Unas, last king of the 5th dynasty: Located south-west of the enclosure wall of the Djoser Step Pyramid Complex, it has fallen into decay. However, it is one of the three largest still present in Saqqara and is remarkable for having the oldest known examples of the religous writings known as the Pyramid Texts within the tomb of Unas. These texts were a collection of spells meant for the king's protection in the afterlife. Despite its state of collapse today, it was originally known as "Beautiful are the places of Unas" leaving one to imagine its former royal glory.
